The National Youth Arts Programme is hosting a seminar on youth arts for youth organisations on September 14th. There are still a few places left so if you are interested, you can sign up here. We will have a report on the seminar available on the website within a few weeks and hopefully, this can kick off a discussion on youth arts and some new ideas for youth organisations.

Update from the Youth Arts Programme
Training in Photography skills for youth leaders
Getting Started in Photography
Photography can enable young people to engage with their environment and/ or to explore a particular issue. This training will support you to engage your youth group in NYCI’s forthcoming photography competition which will launch in September 2016.
• This one-day training will start with an exploration of photography as an exciting and creative medium for engaging young people and will lead into an opportunity for youth workers to develop basic practical skills in digital photography.
• Participants will become inspired and more confident about using photography with young people and will have ideas and resources to support them in running a youth led photography project.
• Using camera phones and laptops, participants will learn how to take good photos and how to enhance and adjust their images. They will also learn how to save and organize photographs and how to upload them online.
A resource book on photography will also be available to assist you in implementing what you learn with your youth group.
The training days take place on October 3rd in Cork - for more details and to book here
And October 17th in Dublin - More details and book here
