Suas Volunteer Programme 2012: Applications now open!

Suas is an ambitious, education-focused social change organisation that supports programmes in Ireland, India & Kenya.  Founded in 2002, Suas has grown quickly to become a leading mid-size organisation in development within Ireland. This year marks the 11th year of the Suas Volunteer Programme.

The Suas Volunteer Programme is a ten month Programme for aspiring young leaders. The programme includes a pre-departure preparation phase and a 10 week long professional work placement, working with and for one of Suas' partner organisations in India or Kenya.  Volunteers work as teaching assistants, supporting the needs of teachers working in challenging environments. Volunteers also engage in extra-curricular activities, such as sports, music and drama. The Programme offers the chance to develop your leadership potential and build your personal and professional skills whilst learning about the challenges and opportunities of development.

We are looking for 80 exceptional young people to provide a quality service to our partners overseas during summer 2012. Applications for the 2012 volunteer programme are now open. Deadline: Monday, 5th December, 12 noon. For more information visit www.suas.ie, or contact Mary/ Dermot at vp@suas.ie or tel. 01 662 1412.
