Summer Camp for Young Film Makers

Want to make it to the Oscars? You've got to start somewhere!

Young Irish Film Makers is calling all budding film makers to join them at their summer camp with a difference! This summer you can take part in making your very own movie.

One week summer camps are running this July and August at their head quarters in St.Joseph's Studios, Waterford Rd, Kilkenny. Camps run from Monday to Friday, 9am until 5pm. With age groups ranging from 8-12 and 13-18 yrs.

July 12-16th (8 - 12yrs)

July 26-30th (13 - 18yrs)

August 9-13th (13 - 18yrs)

Groups of young people will be guided through interactive workshops in all aspects of film making. From writing the script to shooting the movie and creating their own director's cut. At the end of this fun filled week they will attend their very own movie premiere. They will each receive a copy of their short film on DVD.

Young Irish Film Makers boasts past members such as Tomm Moore (Writer/Director of Oscar nominated ‘The Secret of Kells’), Luke Harris (3D animator on Avatar) and John Morton (Creative Director of Devious Theatre Company).
